![]() Emphasis is placed on movement and player physics, with a focus on gaining speed, jumping great distances, and conquering the level geometry. While the basic concept is inspired by other games of the same genre, there are several unique elements. ![]() The gameplay is very fast-paced, due to players being able to move at high speed and jump erratically. To score points, players must kill enemies using futuristic weapons while completing objectives. In order to unlock more game modes, players must complete different levels of gameplay. There are sixteen different game modes in Xonotic, including classic modes like deathmatch and capture the flag. The game runs on a heavily modified version of the Quake engine known as the DarkPlaces engine. It was developed as a fork of Nexuiz, following controversy surrounding the game's development. Xonotic ( / z oʊ ˈ n ɒ t ɪ k, k s oʊ-/) is a free and open-source first-person shooter video game. I just understand, especially at this point in development where basic issues like mouse movement need fixes for some, why it may be better to focus on the one platform currently.Initial release date: 8 September 2011 – Current release version: 0.8.6 20 June 2023 5 months ago ( 20 June 2023) I would like to see all games support Windows, Max and Linux. Mac is at a much higher number of users at 3.27%, though that is decreasing. Which is a good sign for getting more support. Linux makes up 0.82% of steam users, though it is growing. U dont see doom eternal get to suckle.the teet of pc attention on pc only.sigh. Yeeeeeee thats.what i mean pc and vr.are both on the market now meanwhile half of other people who cant afford vr need to get ports. It seems to stem from basic supply and demand. Most games do no have a linux/mac version. Not sure why this comes as a shock to users knowingly using the less supported os in the industry. I imagine if a port is to be made it will likely come later, once early access is over to lower the workload whilst they are still building the game. For instance vr well over a year ago, overtook linux in number of users on steam. Originally posted by Gabi:Mac and Linux make up a small fraction of the market. That they are moving towards ARM is not going to make it easier to play games on Apple computers. with the Raspberry Pi 4 making it able to run x86 code, so that you can run x86 Linux apps and games on the Pi 4 and for the stuff that it supports, it works very well I think.īut SteamVR stopped supporting Mac. ![]() I do like the power efficiency of the ARM CPUs, and some interesting work are being done f.ex. That said, I do find it very interesting to see where it leads. ![]() So Apple are splitting their own platform, again. it means developers have to essentially support 2 Apple systems to be able to release games for it. Except Apple never focused much on games, and that is not likely to change now.īut sure, give it 3-4 years and we might begin to see Apple have the same amount of software support for their ARM machines as their x86 machines and we might begin to see games begin to focus on these new machines.Īpple has done this before. imagine in the near future we will be able to access our games in one eco system on ios + macOS + tvOS. Now i know apple arcade is just a starter for the grand plan of apple's unification. Smart developers like you are going to be on the first wave to make money The tide is turning, apple is cutting off ancient X86 intel cpu with their crazy power efficient Apple's In-House Silicon, woah, they are gonna wipe out amd + intel + nvidia at the same time by doing everything in house and optimise for the best in their eco system Originally posted by 1C_Dan:We are planning on releasing MAC and Linux version on full launch
